Lord of the Highlands explores the dramatic beauty of Scotland from the water, as she sails the Highlands and Islands, the Caledonian Canal, Orkney and the Eastern Seaboard. The small size of the ship means that each cruise is always a carefree and convivial affair, where good conversation flourishes and new friendships are formed. Fine dining is a vital part of the perfect cruising experience. On Lord of the Highlands we take special pride in the quality of our cuisine, prepared by expert chefs from locally sourced produce. Our wines are carefully selected to complement our varied menus.

Only the freshest and finest ingredients are used in our menu choices, most of which are procured from local suppliers. Sparkling glass and fine china complement the excellent cuisine.

Meals on board Lord of the Highlands are an invitation to dine among friends in the elegant Caledonian Restaurant, where all-round picture windows mean you will never miss the view.

Breakfasts are informal and are as healthy or as hearty as you choose with fresh fruit, cooked Scottish fayre and of course, Chef’s own take on that Scottish staple (porridge), with or without a wee dram!

Lunch varies, depending on the day’s activities, and our dedicated crew is ever-present to attendto your every need.

In the evening, dinner is a full service, banquetstyle, three course meal with coffee and petit fours. Our Gala Dinners are sparkling occasions, from the Champagne reception in the lounge to a gourmet dinner – and no cruise would be complete without a traditional recital of Robert Burns’ Address to a Haggis!

Independent travellers will find a warm welcome, as seating is with fellow guests in a single sitting with a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Caledonian Restaurant

Lord of the Highlands is unique. During her multimillion-pound refit, much of her original décor was removed and replaced by rich hardwood finishes offset by cream panelling, reminiscent of a British Pullman carriage.

With its impressive glass atrium, the Panorama Lounge is abound with comfortable and contemporary armchairs, whilst clustered and cosy seating areas encourage small groups where guests can chat privately. For the perfect view of the ensuing scenery, the arching window seat is the perfect place to catch a glimpse of the next instalment of the journey ahead, but for a more formal arrangement, the window lined Pullman chair area of the lounge is perhaps somewhere to settle with a good book or simply take in the awe-inspiring scenery as it glides by

Panorama Lounge

The Panorama Lounge is a comfortable place to unwind with cosy seating areas. Contemporary in design, it has a beautiful glass atrium and offers stunning views through large windows. Our delicious afternoon teas are served in the lounge, along with drinks from the bar.
