Silversea and Royal Caribbean Group Unveil “Points Choice” to Revolutionise Luxury Loyalty
Royal Caribbean Group has officially launched Points Choice, a first-of-its-kind loyalty evolution that allows Silversea guests to earn and apply loyalty points across the Group’s entire portfolio of brands.
The new program, which goes into effect for sailings departing on or after January 30, 2026, allows members of Silversea’s Venetian Society, Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society, and Celebrity Cruises’ Captain’s Club to choose which program receives the points they earn on any given voyage.
A New Era of Flexibility
Historically, loyalty points (or “Venetian Society Days”) were tied strictly to the brand with which a guest sailed. Under Points Choice, a guest can enjoy a high-energy getaway on a Royal Caribbean mega-ship or a modern luxury escape on Celebrity Cruises while directing the points earned from that trip toward their Silversea Venetian Society status.
“Points Choice is designed with our guests at the centre,” said Jason Liberty, chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “Our guests are exploring more of our brands than ever before… Points Choice gives every guest the power to direct their loyalty points within our family of brands where they will have the biggest impact for them.”

How Points Choice Works
The program is designed for seamless integration through a new online portal and the cruise lines’ mobile apps. Key features include:
- Choice of Program: Guests can choose to keep points with the brand they sailed or move them to a different sister brand.
- 14-Day Window: Cruisers have up to 14 days after disembarkation to finalize where their points should be applied.
- Standardised Exchange Rates: Because each brand calculates loyalty differently (e.g., Silversea uses “days” while Royal Caribbean uses “points”), a new 2026 Exchange Rate chart has been established.
- Example: One night in a Royal Caribbean balcony stateroom (1 point) converts to 1 Venetian Society day for every 3 nights sailed.
- Example: High-tier suites on Celebrity can earn up to 24 Captain’s Club points per night, which can be strategically moved to accelerate Silversea status.
The Integrated Loyalty Ecosystem
Points Choice is the second phase of Royal Caribbean Group’s industry-leading loyalty overhaul. It follows the Status Match initiative launched in May 2024, which allowed guests to instantly match their highest tier across all three brands.
While Status Match provided the perks of a higher tier (such as laundry service or cocktail hours), Points Choice provides the credits needed to reach permanent milestones, such as Silversea’s prestigious 350-day and 500-day rewards.
Note: Points Choice only applies to new sailings departing on or after January 30, 2026. Previously earned points or days remain fixed within their original programs.

Strategic Impact for Silversea
For Silversea, the move is seen as a way to attract premium travellers from sister brands who are looking to “graduate” into ultra-luxury and expedition cruising. By allowing guests to build their Venetian Society days while sailing on Celebrity or Royal Caribbean, the Group makes the goal of a complimentary Silversea milestone cruise more attainable than ever.
