Star Seeker & Star Explorer: Sailing a New Wave of Luxury
Windstar Cruises is raising the bar in small-ship luxury with two all-suite superyachts: Star Seeker (launching December 2025) and her sister ship Star Explorer (arriving December 2026). Designed for travellers who value elegance, authenticity, and connection to destination, these ships combine sumptuous design and high-touch service with features that deepen the sense of place at sea.

What sets them apart
Spacious Suites & Seamless Views
- Each yacht will carry 112 suites, with a guest capacity of 224. Nearly all accommodations include either a full private veranda or a floor-to-ceiling infinity window that can open to let in the sea air.
- There are two grand Horizon Owner’s Suites aft on deck (Deck 7) featuring wrap-around balcony terraces – ideal for private dinners or cocktails under the sky.
- For those seeking a lighter touch, there are “Oceanview Suites” with plenty of natural light and sea views, plus accommodations convertible between queen or twin beds as required.

Dining & Leisure Facilities
- Between them, the ships will offer five dining options, all included in the fare, including Windstar’s signature venues – Amphora, Yacht Club Café / Lounge, Star Grill, specialty restaurant Basil + Bamboo, and more.
- A full-service spa (two-stories), fitness facility, and enhanced outdoor spaces are featured. The ships include a revamped Watersports Platform that lets guests access the sea directly, turning the water just off the ship into more than just scenery.

Design, Destination & Access
- Both ships are built with ice-strengthened hulls, enabling more adventurous itineraries in colder or more remote regions.
- The bow and stern have been styled more yacht-like, with features such as “duck-tail” sterns and redesigned bows, to soften profile, improve aesthetics, stability, and fuel efficiency.
- Star Seeker’s inaugural season will include a transatlantic voyage (Malaga to Miami), then Caribbean itineraries, Alaska, Japan, and Southeast Asia. Star Explorer will first sail Mediterranean local-season itineraries, giving guests fresh ways to experience iconic destinations with fewer crowds.
Interior Ambience & Décor
- Suites are envisioned as tranquil havens: light woods and a soothing palette of soft blues, greens, natural browns. The public spaces bring warmer, sunset-inspired hues – warm yellows, golds, oranges – for a balance of serenity and vibrancy.
- No interior (windowless) cabins – every guest gets a view.

Step inside to serene interiors of soft coastal tones and light woods, designed to evoke calm and connection. The result? A sense of effortless luxury that feels less like a cruise, and more like sailing aboard a private yacht.

Whether gliding through Alaska’s wild beauty, wandering Japan’s tranquil coasts, or discovering hidden harbours in the Mediterranean, these ships are crafted for travellers who crave authentic connection, space, and style.

Experience the World anew
For discerning travellers, these ships will offer luxury devoid of excess baggage – no overwhelming size, no interior cabins, no crowding. What you get instead is refined comfort, connection to surroundings, and a sense that your journey matters as much as your destination.
This is travel without compromise – where intimate size meets expansive imagination, and every voyage feels uniquely personal.
