Sue Hanson and Susan Smith from Deluxe Cruises recently experienced a few days onboard the new Regent Seven Seas Spendor.  Here is a summary of their experience.

We boarded in Fincantieri’s shipyard in Ancona and were amongst the first passengers ever to set foot onboard the Regent Seven Seas Splendor, a ship so pristine and immaculate you could almost smell the newness as we sipped a glass of Champagne and were welcomed by friendly smiles.

The décor is simply stunning throughout, light, bright and classy. Marble, wood, Venetian glass with a combination of beautiful textiles and textures in neutral tones. The carpets were so thick even high heeled shoes seemed comfortable!

The attention to detail in the suites is unsurpassed; they are spacious, light and elegant. Regent has given us everything. Bathrooms with the softest white towels and bathmats that felt like velvet underfoot, beds so comfy you do not want to get up in the morning. The suites have plenty of storage, little thoughtful details everywhere and mood lighting to suit any time of the day. A real haven to relax in.

Dining provided a different experience every time with five different choices of restaurant in the evening, it was lovely to look forward to going out to sample different types of cuisine. My favourite was the Pacific Rim, pan Asian cuisine, the lobster tempura, simply delicious!

Nightly entertainment was in the beautiful theatre. A collection of comfy seats with little tables for drinks, the décor was in an elegant art deco style. Choreographed shows with fantastic dancers we left feeling exhilarated, energized and ready for the DJ in the Splendor Lounge.

Regents cookery school, the Culinary Arts Kitchen, was great fun, we were greeted with an Italian cocktail. We began learning tips from a chef, cooking dishes using locally sourced ingredients from the ports we visited, which you then get to eat! The best thing, you do not have to wash up afterwards!

Our voyage on the Seven Seas Splendor was memorable from start to finish. No expense has been spared in the details, and nothing is too much trouble, it was an exceptional experience, the ultimate luxury at sea.
