Cunard Line is delighted and honoured to confirm that Her Majesty The Queen will name Queen Elizabeth at a ceremony to take place in Southampton on Monday 11 October 2010.

The naming will be a milestone in British maritime history and will be a major event of worldwide interest. The naming of a new Cunard Queen is always a very special occasion and this will be an historic event in the true sense of the word. The Queen launched Queen Elizabeth 2 in 1967 and named the current flagship Queen Mary 2 in 2004.

Her Majesty was also present at the age of 12 at the launch of the first Queen Elizabeth on 27 September 1938 when she accompanied her mother, Queen Elizabeth, to Clydebank for the launch.

For those wishing to sail with Queen Elizabeth in 2010, although her maiden voyage itself sold out in a record 29 minutes there is some limited availability on her five other 2010 voyages due to additional staterooms being released for sale.
