Four Seasons has celebrated the start of construction on Four Seasons I, due to embark on its inaugural season in January 2026.
It marked the occasion with a keel-laying ceremony, hosted in partnership with luxury yachting company Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings and Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy, on Tuesday 9th July 2024.
The time-honoured maritime tradition of keel laying formally recognizes the start of construction, and as part of the ceremony, three symbolic coins were welded to the keel—considered the backbone of the ship—inviting good luck in the construction of the yacht and throughout her life.
Alejandro Reynal, president and chief executive at Four Seasons, said the ceremony marks “a key milestone in constructing our inaugural yacht”.
Nadim Ashi, owner and executive chair of Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings – joint owner/operator of Four Seasons Yachts – added: “Today’s momentum and excitement will undoubtedly continue through the remainder of the construction process, and we pay homage to all of the artisans creating this magnificent Four Seasons Yacht.”
Setting a new standard of luxury at sea, Four Seasons I will offer all-suite, residential-style accommodations with private terraces and panoramic windows. Guests can customize their suites, or entire decks, for truly bespoke travel experiences starting in January 2026 in the Caribbean, followed by summer voyages in the Mediterranean.
Features include the Funnel Suite’s floor-to-ceiling wraparound curved glass window modules, which are comprised of the most significant contiguous piece of glass at sea.
