On Sunday, 25th February 2024, Silversea Cruises celebrated the float-out ceremony of its latest Ultra Luxury Cruise ship, the Silver Ray, at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

This event marked the addition of Silversea’s second Nova Class ship, which will accompany its sister vessel, the Silver Nova, as the two largest ships within the Silversea fleet. Both ships have a guest capacity of 728 and a crew of 544.

The float-out commenced at 11:30 a.m. local time, where the ship was transitioned from the construction drydock to a wet dock for the final phase of outfitting and completion.

Scheduled for launch this summer, the Silver Ray is poised to embark on its inaugural cruise season in Europe. It will offer itineraries covering various destinations, including Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Valencia in Spain; Monaco; Livorno (Florence/Pisa) in Italy; and St. Tropez in France.
