Our Five Nights Aboard Seven Seas Grandeur

By Julie & Rita, Deluxe Cruises

We were delighted to have the opportunity to experience a FAM trip aboard Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Grandeur®, sailing for five nights from Stockholm to Copenhagen.

From the moment we stepped aboard, it was clear that this is a ship designed around one simple philosophy: luxury should feel effortless. Elegant surroundings, impeccable service, outstanding cuisine and an impressive range of included experiences combine to create a truly special way to travel.

Accommodation

Whichever suite you choose aboard Seven Seas Grandeur, you can expect the same exceptional attention to design, comfort and detail. Every suite features a furnished private balcony, giving you your own space to sit back, relax and enjoy the ever-changing views.

Elegant Design

Seven Seas Grandeur perfectly balances classic, stately elegance with fresh, contemporary luxury.

Throughout the ship, the interiors feel refined and beautifully considered, with sophisticated furnishings, elegant finishes and an impressive collection of artwork. In fact, the ship is home to around 1,600 pieces of art, creating the feeling of staying in an intimate, luxury hotel rather than simply travelling on a cruise ship.

There is an understated glamour to Grandeur that we particularly loved – luxurious without feeling stuffy, and elegant without losing its sense of warmth.

Dining – So Much Choice

One of the highlights of our time aboard was undoubtedly the dining. We were incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to sample all the restaurants, each offering its own character and culinary style.

La Veranda

La Veranda is the perfect choice when you want plenty of variety and the freedom to choose exactly what takes your fancy. The open-seating buffet offers a fantastic selection for breakfast and lunch, making it an easy and relaxed dining option.

Sette Mari

In the evening, La Veranda transforms into Sette Mari, serving Italian specialities and old-school classics with plenty of Italian flair.

It is incredibly popular, so our advice is to arrive early, as seating is first come, first served. The relaxed atmosphere and delicious food make it well worth seeking out.

Compass Rose

For us, Compass Rose was a real highlight. As the ship’s largest restaurant, it offers leisurely open-seating dining in stunning surroundings.

One of the lovely touches is the ability to create your own entrée, giving you the freedom to tailor your meal to your preferences. Table-service breakfast is also available here, providing a wonderfully relaxed start to the day.

Chartreuse

For an evening with a little French flair, Chartreuse is a must.

Reservations are required at this speciality restaurant, where classic French cuisine is given a modern twist. We loved the unhurried atmosphere – this is somewhere to settle in, enjoy the surroundings and take your time over a fabulous meal.

Prime 7

Elegant, intimate and wonderfully inviting, Prime 7 is Regent’s speciality steakhouse.

Reservations are required, and the restaurant has a warm atmosphere with some amazing sunset views. There is an impressive choice of steaks, alongside dishes such as smoked salmon and fresh lobster, all perfectly complemented by a selection of wines.

And whatever you do, save room for the 14-layer chocolate cake!

Pacific Rim

Another firm favourite was Pacific Rim, Regent’s Pan-Asian speciality restaurant.

Reservations are required, and the atmosphere is relaxed and sophisticated. One of the most striking features is the beautiful flowering cherry tree crafted from bronze and glass – just one example of the incredible attention to detail found throughout the ship.

Pool Grill

For something more casual, Pool Grill offers alfresco, open-seating dining with a view.

It is ideal for a light and healthy breakfast or a relaxed lunch in the sunshine – the sort of place where you can arrive in your holiday clothes and simply enjoy the moment.

Coffee Connection

Coffee Connection quickly became one of our favourite stops.

It is perfect for grabbing a freshly brewed coffee and pastry before heading off on an early shore excursion, or for an afternoon pick-me-up. And if a full afternoon tea feels a little too indulgent, this is the ideal alternative!

Afternoon Tea & Evening Entertainment

There is plenty happening beyond the restaurants.

The Meridian Lounge is the place to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea at 4pm, while the Grandeur Lounge provides a lovely setting for an evening drink, with music, singers and live bands on most evenings.

For those who enjoy a show, the Constellation Theatre presents a variety of entertainment, with performances at 21:30.

What To Do On Board

One of the things we particularly appreciated about Seven Seas Grandeur is that you never feel you have to leave the ship to enjoy yourself.

If you don’t fancy one of the included shore excursions or the complimentary shuttle, there is still plenty to keep you occupied.

Take a dip in the inviting pool, relax in the jacuzzi with a cocktail, or challenge your travelling companion to a game of bocce, mini golf, shuffleboard or paddle tennis.

For those looking to completely unwind, the beautiful Serene Spa & Wellness offers the opportunity to indulge in a treatment, while the library provides a peaceful retreat when you simply want to curl up with a good book.

There are also board games, bridge tournaments and daily trivia in the Observation Lounge – perfect for meeting fellow guests and adding a little friendly competition to your day.

And for anyone who enjoys cooking, the Culinary Arts Kitchen offers the chance to learn new skills and try something different.

The Sports Deck

Located on Deck 12, the Sports Deck is a great space for keeping active while at sea.

There is a full-circle outdoor power walking and jogging track, with seven laps equalling one mile, as well as a dedicated dual-sport court for pickleball and paddle tennis.

Golf enthusiasts can make use of the putting greens and golf nets, while there is also a nine-hole miniature golf course.

For more traditional deck games, you’ll find a bocce court and shuffleboard, alongside open-air lounge areas with comfortable outdoor furniture – the perfect place to relax afterwards and enjoy the sea views.

Our Verdict

Our five nights aboard Seven Seas Grandeur gave us a wonderful insight into the Regent experience, and we came away with a real appreciation for what makes this style of cruising so special.

The ship combines beautiful design, outstanding dining, attentive service and an exceptional choice of activities, while the all-inclusive approach allows you to relax and enjoy your holiday without constantly reaching for your wallet.

Whether you are enjoying a quiet coffee on your private balcony, dining in one of the speciality restaurants, watching the sunset from Prime 7 or simply relaxing on deck, there is a wonderful sense that everything has been taken care of.

For us, that is the real luxury of Regent – the freedom to simply enjoy the journey.
